The Woman in Islam

“ Paradise lies under the feet of mothers.”

That's not so true Mrs Yasmeen, you have forgotten to mention that a women has the greatest  status in Islam, as Jannat is under her feet if she is a mother

.Allah has given the mother such status that He says,
“ Paradise lies under the feet of mothers.”
Our religion mentioned superiority of mother over father, when a sahabi asked our beloved prophet Mohammad Sallalhu Alaalihi walehi Wasalam (peace be upon him) about rights of his parents and asked who deserves more, he said "your mother" sahabi again asked he said "you mother" he again asked and his reply was "your mother" and then our prophet said "your father".
Only Allah knows what your mother does for you, He sees your mother feeling pain whilst she tries to give you whatever you want. He sees your mother’s love and kindness. Pleased by your mother’s actions, Allah has given her a very high status and many virtues and rewards.
Allah also sees that many of us are not thankful to our mothers. He sees many of us being disobedient towards them. Therefore, Allah has ordered us to be good towards our mothers; he has not advised us but ordered us; we have no choice; therefore we have to be good towards our mothers! To encourage us to do this, Allah Taa’la has promised paradise for those of us who are obedient towards our mothers. At the same time, Allah has threatened to severely punish those of us who do not listen to our mothers or hurt them in any way.
But what does your Mother do for you? She only cooks and cleans! So why do you need to be thankful to your Mother?
Apart from Allah, nobody knows what our Mother really does for us.
TEN REASONS FOR BEING THANKFUL TO YOUR MOTHER:
1. YOUR MOTHER CARRIED YOU IN HER STOMACH FOR 9 MONTHS BEARING PAIN UPON PAIN!
2. DURING THIS TIME, SHE COULD NOT EAT BECAUSE OF YOU! SHE COULD NOT SLEEP BECAUSE OF YOU!
3. WHEN YOU WERE A BABY; SHE SPENT EVERY MINUTE OF HER LIFE LOOKING AFTER YOU!
4. SHE ONLY SLEPT WHEN YOU SLEPT! SHE ONLY ATE AFTER YOU HAD EATEN!
5. SHE WAS PATIENT AND LOVED YOU EVEN WHEN YOU CRIED ALL NIGHT, AND WHEN YOU CRIED ALL DAY!
6. SHE TAUGHT YOU HOW TO WALK, HOW TO SPEAK, HOW TO EAT, SHE TAUGHT YOU HOW TO LIVE!
7. WHEN YOU FALL ILL, SHE LOOKS AFTER YOU!
8. SHE ALWAYS COOKS AND PREPARES FOOD FOR YOU!
9. SHE BUYS YOU WHATEVER YOU ASK FOR!
10. SHE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO!
These are just a few things that our Mothers do for us; they do so much more of which we do not know about. However, one thing that your Mother does for you, that nobody else in the world does, is that she worries about you from the bottom of her Heart.
SO WHAT IS IT SHE WORRIES ABOUT?
SHE WORRIES ABOUT YOUR FOOD!
SHE WORRIES ABOUT YOUR CLOTHES!
SHE WORRIES ABOUT YOUR HEALTH!
SHE WORRIES ABOUT YOUR EDUCATION!
SHE WORRIES ABOUT YOUR FUTURE!
SHE WORRIES ABOUT YOUR WHOLE LIFE!
Allah has ordered us, in various places of the Holy Qur’an, to be good to our mothers. He has told us to look after them even more when they are old and weak. He has taught us to be gentle to our mothers and speak to them in a nice manner. He has also told us to supplicate to Him for our Mothers with this prayer,
RABBIR-HAMHUMA KAMA RABBAYANI SAGHEERAH.”
(MY LORD HAVE MERCY UPON MY PARENTS; THE WAY THEY HAD MERCY UPON ME WHEN I WAS YOUNG).
The Prophet May Allah send peace and blessings upon him has also ordered us to be good to our mothers. He has told us about the great rewards for that person who is good to his mother. He has described the mother as being a ‘door of paradise.’ He has also warned us of severe punishments for that person who is disobedient to his mother.
TEN EASY WAYS TO ENTER PARADISE
1. LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER
2. HELP YOUR MOTHER
3. SMILE AT YOUR MOTHER
4. BE THANKFUL TO YOUR MOTHER FOR WHATEVER SHE DOES FOR YOU
5. SPEND TIME WITH YOUR MOTHER
6. ALWAYS ASK YOUR MOTHER IF YOU CAN HELP HER WITH ANYTHING
7. BUY YOUR MOTHER GIFTS
8. BE GOOD TO YOUR MOTHER’S FAMILY AND FRIENDS
9. STUDY HARD AND LEAD A GOOD LIFE SO THAT YOUR MOTHER IS HAPPY
10. ALWAYS PRAY FOR YOUR MOTHER, ESPECIALLY AFTER EVERY SALAAH.
WARNING: THOSE WHO ARE DISOBEDIENT TO THEIR MOTHER WILL BURN IN THE FIRE OF HELL!
However hard we try, we can never repay our mothers for what they have done for us, but we can at least try, and also ask Allah to repay them for us. Our mothers are indeed a great blessing from Allah. We should appreciate and value this blessing as much as we can. Whilst our mothers are alive, we have a golden opportunity to guarantee ourselves paradise and also success in this world.
REMINDER: We will only truly realise the value of our mothers when they are no longer with us – when they have passed away, but then it will be too late!
So please do not feel bad about being a women. its the only religion which gives so much right and respect to a women.

Forty Ahadith on the Intercession of the Beloved Prophet اسماع الاربعین في شفاعة سید المحبوبین

Dear Readers! You already have received the email titled, "The Radiant Quranic Rays on the Intercession of the Best of Creation". In the previous email, I  presented the verses of Quran al-Kareem in support to our belief that the beloved Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam is the Intercessor of the Sinners by the grace of Allah Almighty. AlHamduLILLAH! I have received a very warm and enthusiastic response from my brothers and sisters but unfortunately, the opponents are still not satisfied. Rather, their sheer ignorance leads them to demand for Ahadith which reflect the true meaning of the Quranic verses and their commentaries presented earlier.
Well, I am very much amazed!! Are the Ahadith regarding Intercession such that they could be hidden from anyone? Scores of Sahaba, hundreds of Tabi'een and thousands of Muhaddithin have narrated them - all books of Hadith - the Sahihs, the Musnads, the Ma’ajims, the Jawami'es and the Musannafs – are all full of them. I present here a collection of 40 Ahadith, so that the faith of Muslims may be strengthened by them, and the deniers may burn in jealousy – especially those Ahadith which shall refute the unscrupulous, deviant wicked wrong doers who have in their writings attempted to change the very meaning of intercession and tried to hide their rejection of intercession by changing its definition.

These Ahadith will make clear that our Master is the chosen and appointed one for intercession – he only is the refuge of the sinners, from him only is the succor for the friendless – contrary to what one deviant alleges that “whomever Allah wills, He will decree as an intercessor”.

These Ahadith will give the glad tidings that the intercession of our Beloved Prophet is not just for those who have accidentally sinned and are ashamed and continuously fearful of their deeds – as one wicked wrongdoer has claimed thus “The theft has been proved upon the thief, but he is not a habitual thief and he has not adopted theft as his profession – but rather the theft was committed accidentally due to his own sheer bad luck – so he is repentant and cries day and night (so for such is the intercession)”. No, surely not! I swear by Allah the Supreme Who has appointed the Holy Prophet as the Intercessor of the sinners, that his intercession is for the utterly sinful, wicked and oppressive Muslims like us who are so steeped in sins that even sins are ashamed of them.

Ahadith # 1 2

The Holy Prophet the Intercessor of the Sinners (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) said,

خيرت بين الشفاعة وبين أن يدخل نصف أمتى الجنة فاخترت الشفاعة لأنها أعم وأكفى أترونها للمتقين لا ولكنها للمذنبين الخطائين المتلوثين
“Allah gave me the option of choosing between the power of intercession or having half of my Ummah admitted to Paradise without any reckoning. I chose the power of intercession because that is more important and will be more useful. Do you assume that my intercession is for the pious Muslims? No, on the contrary, it is for those sinners who are steeped in sins and have committed grave crimes." [Imam Ahmad in his Musnad from Hadrat Abdullah ibn Umar. Ibn Maja from Hadrat Abu Musa Asha'ari]

O Allah - Peace and abundant blessings be upon the Holy Prophet! And all praise is to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

Hadith # 3

The Holy Prophet the Intercessor of the Sinners (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) said,

Ahadith # 4 to 8

The Holy Prophet the Intercessor of the Sinners  (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) said,

“My intercession is for the sinful among my Ummah.”

“Even if he is an adulterer or a thief?”

He replied,

The Holy Prophet the Intercessor of the Sinners (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) said,

Hadith # 15

The Holy Prophet the Intercessor of the Sinners (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) said,

“Pulpits of gold will be arranged for the Prophets and they will sit on them, and my pulpit will remain empty as I will not sit on it – but I shall stand humbly before my Lord fearing that I may be sent into Paradise while my Ummah remains behind me. I shall then pray, “O my Lord! My Ummah! My Ummah!” Allah the Supreme will proclaim, “O Mohammed! What is your wish regarding what I should do with your Ummah?” I shall submit, “O my Lord! Settle their accounts quickly!” So I will continue to intercede until I get letters to get released those who had already been sent to hell – to the extent that Maalik, the custodian of hell, will exclaim, “O Mohammed! You have not left even a bit of the Lord’s wrath among your Ummah!” [Hakim with sound chains and Tibrani Baihaqi from Hadrat Abdullah ibn Abbas]

Ahadith # 22 23

The Holy Prophet the Intercessor of the Sinners (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) said,

“Although thousands of prayers of the Prophets are accepted, they are also bestowed with one special prayer from Allah – that they may ask whatever they desire and it will certainly be granted. All the Prophets up to Prophet Eisa have utilised their privileged prayers in this world whereas I have saved it for the hereafter – and that is my Intercession for my Ummah on the day of judgement. My intercession is for all persons of my Ummah who have left this world with faith.” [In the narrations of Hadrat Abdullah ibn Abbas, Hadrat Abu Saeed Khudri and Hadrat Moosa Ash’ari, the same subject as mentioned as in the narrations of Ahmed, Bukhari Muslim from Hadrat Anas. O Allah – grant us the intercession, by the honour of the Prophet with you! Aameen.

Allahu Akbar!! O the sinners of this Ummah! Do you not see the extreme compassion and mercy of our Master the Holy Prophet upon you? For he was bestowed three such prayers from Allah the Supreme – to seek whatever he wished – and he did not seek anything for himself, but assigned them just for you. He sought two things in this world – these two were also for you – and has reserved one for the hereafter – for your dire need on that day, when except for our compassionate merciful Master there will be none providing help, none removing your calamities.

Allah the Almighty, has rightly said,

عزيز عليه ما عنتم حريص عليكم بالمومنين رءوف رحيم
“Your falling into hardship aggrieves him, most concerned for your well being, for the Muslims most compassionate, most merciful.”[Surah Tauba 9:128]

By Allah! By oath of the One who has made our Master so merciful upon us, no mother can have so much love and affection for her only son as much as he has for every single person of his Ummah! O Allah – You indeed know our limitations and weaknesses, and You indeed know the lofty rights of his greatness upon us – so O Allah, the Omnipotent, the Supreme Being, the Great! Shower your choicest, abundant, auspicious blessings upon him and his progeny that befit his rights and that suffice his mercy!

Praise be to Allah! And what has the Ummah done in lieu of his mercy? Some raise doubts about his high status, some are sceptical of his power of intercession, some equal his rank to themselves, some get upset when he is glorified – while some allege acts of love to be inventions and some declare acts of respect and honour to be polytheism! May Allah save protect us!! Aameen.

Hadith # 24

The Holy Prophet the Intercessor of the Sinners (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) said,

“Allah the Supreme granted me three prayers, so I have twice prayed that

اللهم اغفر لامّتي اللهم اغفر لامتي
‘O Allah, forgive my Ummah! O Allah forgive my Ummah!’

واخّرت الثالثة ليوم يرغب الیّ فيه الخلق حتى ابراهيم
And I have reserved the last one for the day when the entire creation will approach me with their needs, even Prophet Ibrahim!” [Sahih Muslim from Hadrat Ubai ibn Ka’ab]

Ref:
Sahih Muslim, Vol 1, Page 273
Musnad Ahmad, Vol 5, Page 127

Hadith # 25

The Holy Prophet the Intercessor of the Sinners (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) submitted to his Lord, “You have granted such and such favours to the other Prophets!” So Allah the Supreme proclaimed,

أعطيتك خير من ذلك (الٰى قوله) و خبأت لك شفاعتك ، و لم أخبأها لنبي غيرك
“What I have granted you, is better than all of that – I have preserved Intercession for you and not given this to anyone else but you.”

Ref:
Al-Shifa bi Tareefi Huqooqil Mustafa, Vol. 1, Page 134

HadIth # 26.

The Holy Prophet the Intercessor of the Sinners (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) said,

إذا كان يوم القيامة كنت إمام النبيين وخطيبهم وصاحب شفاعتهم غير فخر
“On the day of judgement, I shall be the Leader of the Prophets, and their orator and the owner of their intercession – and I do not say this with any pride.” [Ibn Abi Shaibah, Tirmizi, Ibn Majah and Hakim – from Hadrat Ubai Ibn Ka’ab]

Ref:
Sunan Tirmidhi, Vol. 2, Page 201
Sunan Ibn Maajah, Page 330
Al Mustadrak lil Hakim, Vol. 1, Page 71

Ahadith # 27 to 40

The Holy Prophet , the Intercessor of the Sinners (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him)
 said,

شفاعتي يوم القيامة حق فمن لم يؤمن بها لم يكن من أهلها
“My intercession on the day of judgement is a reality – so whoever does not believe in it will not deserve it.” [Ibn Manie’ from 14 Sahaba namely Hadrat Anas, Hadrat Jabir, Hadrat Ibn Abbas, Hadrat Ibne Umar, Hadrat Ka'ab, Hadrat Abi Darda, Hadrat Ibn Umar, Hadrat Abu Musa and etc.]

Ref:
Kanz al-Ummal, Hadith 39059, Vol. 14, Page 399

The unfortunate soul who belies intercession must therefore ponder upon the above mass narrated Hadith - and have pity upon himself by believing in the Intercession of our Master the Holy Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him).

O Allah! Make us worthy of his intercession in this world and in the hereafter. O Allah, the Supreme! Shower your choicest abundant auspicious blessings upon our Master and his progeny and upon all his followers until the day of judgement!

Peace blessings be upon all the Prophets, and May Allah be well pleased with the Companions. Aameen!!

Bribery رشوت

1)     Bribery-A Big Sin in Islam

Bribery means giving money to someone through whom a person takes something which he / she has no right to. For example: bribing a judge to get verdict in favour (wrongfully), or bribing an official to give him preference over others or to get other r
Bribery is a big sin in Islam. Allah says:

???? ??????????     ????????????? ?????????? ???????????? ?????????? ????? ????? ???????????     ???????????? ???????? ???? ????????? ???????? ?????????? ??????????     ???????????

"And eat up not one another's property unjustly, nor give bribery to the rulers that you may knowingly eat up a part of the property of others sinfully."

(Aayah No. 188, Surah Al-Baqarah, Chapter No. 2, Holy Qur'an).

We see that bribery is clearly prohibited by Allah. One thing to highlight in this glorious verse of Holy Qur'an is that two different messages can be inferred upon from here. One is that Allah prohibits us from eating property of others sinfully. Second is the prohibition of giving bribe to the rulers. And when bribery comes into play, eating another's right is bound to come into effect.

Bribery is one of the biggest culprits creating havoc among the society, especially in the countries of Indian sub-continent (i.e. India, Pakistan etc.). Everyone is ready to offer bribe to get his / her work done. And almost all working in positions that matter, if not all, are always waiting to get their share of bribe from the public. It goes from bottom to top; a peon is seen taking bribe, and so is a Manager. The levels and amounts of bribery may differ according to the position held by the taker, but the filthy act is deep embedded among the people, irrespective of religion.

Small examples show our approach in this matter. These examples can be observed in routine works of almost all the offices (particularly government offices). Have a look:

1. We are in a long queue, several places behind, and we simply offer few bucks to some mediators who can get our work done earlier than others who spend their time lining up.

2. There comes an announcement from government regarding a housing scheme where homes are to be allotted to the common public, based on a draw. However, majority of the people tend to get the allotment in their favour wrongfully, without going through the hassles of draw. How? By bribing the officials involved in it.

3. Candidates are ready to pay ample amount of money to get a particular job, irrespective of the fact that they are qualified for it or not; and a qualified deserving candidate ends up on losing side.

4. Electoral processes nowadays (be it of smaller positions or bigger ones) are not spared.

5. Admissions to educational institutions are easier for people who have money, courtesy bribery.

6. Businesses prosper on bribes.

The list can go on and on. What to talk about others, our Muslim fellows are equally a part of this corrupt system. To add to the woes of corruption, bribery has found its way into the affairs of administration related to Hajj pilgrimage. There has been a recent incident about a government official (probably a minister) in Pakistan being sacked from his position because of his involvement in misappropriating funds from the Hajj pilgrims, giving and taking money as a favour to some. What a shame?

Who is a bigger sinner: the taker or the giver?

I had been in discussion with my friends on this subject many times. Some of the Muslims put forward an excuse that because we are asked to give so we give. Therefore, according to them it is the taker who is doing a sin.

True, the one who takes bribe is doing a big sin. But the giver is also responsible. Let me quote a hadith or two in this context.

Abdullah bin Amr (RA) narrated: Allah's Messenger (PBUH) cursed the one who bribes and the one who takes bribe.

(Hadith No. 1337, Chapters on Judgements, Jami' At-Tirmidhi, Vol. 3).

In another narration,

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated: Allah's Messenger (PBUH) cursed the one who bribes and the one who takes a bribe for judgement.

(Hadith No. 1336, Chapters on Judgement, Jami' At-Tirmidhi, Vol. 3).

If we go back to the verse of Holy Qur'an mentioned at the start of our discussion and read the two Ahadith mentioned above, we can see that both the giver and the taker of bribe are sinners, although Allah is more specifically ordering not to give bribery i.e. addressing the giver.

Some of the Muslims who enjoy being a part of this filthy sin put forward one stupid excuse in their defense. These are those who are in influential positions and are busy minting money through bribery. They say that it is not haraam to take bribery from Non-Muslims. What a mockery? I feel pity for people who put forward such false excuses to act like an ostrich (an ostrich has a tendency of hiding her face in her feathers and feeling that now no one can see her since she cannot see anyone). Please get out of this disillusion. Islam does not allow any Muslim to eat property of any Non-Muslim unjustly. Islam doe
?????????

"Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion nor drove you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity."

(Aayah No. 8, Surah Al-Mumtahanah, Chapter No. 60, Holy Qur'an).

This aayah tells us that we have to deal justly even with Non-Muslims. Therefore, all earnings accumulated through bribery in such a manner are haraam.

And the sin of bribery is not limited to the giver and taker only; in fact every person who is linked to any such deal, like a middleman or a mediator, is also involved in this sin.

When gifts turn into bribery (and / or Riba')

Islam advocates exchange of gifts among the fellow Muslims. Giving and taking of gifts may involve some persons who are placed in high influential positions. But the gifts should not be confused with bribery. Both are totally different. Gifts are encouraged in Islam, whereas bribery is prohibited in Islam. However, there is one case where gifts take shape of bribe (or even Riba'). Following verse of Holy Qur'an tells us about it:
????? ????????? ???? ????? ??????????? ??? ????????? ???????? ???? ???????? ?????? ???????

"And that which you give in Riba' (the gifts), in order that it may increase from other people's property, has no increase with Allah."

(Aayah No. 39, Surah Ar-R?m, Chapter No. 30, Holy Qur'an).

This aayah gives a similar message like the one mentioned in the start (Aayah No. 188, Surah Al-Baqarah). There Allah orders us not to bribe the rulers to eat up property of others unjustly. The aayah mentioned above supports it by telling us that if we give gifts to the rulers (or higher officials etc.) in order to get their undue favours with an intention of getting part of others' property unjustly, then such a gift is Riba'.

One exception

We have talked about the sin of bribery giver. We have talked about sin of bribery taker. However, there is one exception for the one who gives bribe in one particular case. It is allowed to give bribe if a person is not able to attain his / her rights in any other normal way. If a person is deprived of his rights, there is no harm on his part to give the bribe he is asked for in order to get his rights. In such a case, the sin is totally on the taker, the receiver. However, this is the last resort to be adopted by a Muslim.

There is a unanimous consensus among all the scholars of all school of thoughts on this exception.

Concluding Remarks

All of us know that bribery is a big sin, either way, giving or taking. Still the attachment to the worldly things is so deep and strong that it doesn't allow us to look beyond. Give a thought to what are the after-effects of bribery. The more bribery gets prevalent, the bigger becomes the gap between the rich and poor. People get a taste of blood and gradually start living on haraam earnings. They become complacent towards the responsibilities of their duties. Corruption gets deep rooted. One who pays a hefty sum (as a bribe) to get a government position tends to get back his money and more from others, and it goes on and on. To sum it up, it leads to a series of wrong-doings. This spreads and maligns the society at a rate much faster than what cancer does to the body of a victim.

Remember, it is not correct on part of a Muslim to be a part of bribery system. It is prohibited for a Muslim to take bribe, to give bribe and to be a mediator in any of the deals based on bribery.

Stay away from this sin. If we cannot stop this sin then at least we can do our part by not being a part of it in any manner.

Get up. Do the needful. Clean yourself.IFITS

Remove this malignancy from the society.

And Allah knows best.

May Allah forgive me if I am wrong and guide us to the right path…Ameen.
